FACULTY PROFILE

Professor Wagner's journey at GovState began in 2003 as a student. At GovState, Professor Wagner earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a certification in middle school teaching. Later, Professor Wagner returned to GovState for her master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 2013. She then decided to return to school at National University and completed her doctoral studies in 2024. As the first to graduate from college in her family, this was and still is very exciting!

Professor Wagner worked in the nearby school districts as an educator, teaching 1st through 4th grade for 18 years. She believes in the power of local universities and connections with nearby schools, staff, and community.

Professor Wagner began her transition to higher education by taking an adjunct position at Chicago State University and then GovState. She made the transition to full-time Higher Education here at GovState in 2023. She enjoys working one-on-one with candidates and is anticipating their wonderful futures as successful educators!
