An undergraduate minor in Chemistry is offered to students majoring in other fields who wish to supplement their preparation in a major discipline with a substantial amount of coursework in chemistry.

The minor in Chemistry is particularly appropriate for those students who would like to develop a theoretical understanding of chemistry and fundamental laboratory skills. A minor in Chemistry will generally enhance the prospects of students for employment in industry and education and for admission to graduate or professional schools.

Students must meet all university requirements for a minor. In addition, students must:

  1. complete at least one course at the upper-division level; and
  2. submit transfer courses to the advisor for the minor for approval by the first week of the term of intended graduation.
