  • Access and Upload Assignments

    -

This tutorial will discuss how to access the assignment and how to upload a document (word, pdf, etc.) using the assignment tool. Note: If you see a blank page instead of the assignment you just submitted, you submitted a blank attempt and will have to contact your instructor to allow you to resubmit.

  • Assignment Supported File Types

    +

This tutorial will discuss which types of files are supported by Blackboard Annotate, which is the assignment submission software. Though you can upload just about any type of file to Blackboard, Instructors want to be able to preview your submission, not have to download. BB Annotate requires a specific file type to preview.

  • Troubleshoot Assignments

    +

View some of the more common issues that can occur when trying to submit Blackboard assignments.

    Multiple Submissions:
    -You submitted the wrong file.
-You are trying to resubmit an assignment, but don't have the option to.
    -A blank attempt was submitted.

Though you may contact Blackboard Support to assist with the matter, it is up to the Instructor to provide students with additional assignment attempts. Please contact the Instructor of the course to grant you an additional attempt.

Blackboard won't allow me to submit my paper:
-The assignment title is not clickable.
-I can open the assignment submission page, but cannot attach a file.

Try using a different internet browser, such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. If the issue remains, please contact Blackboard Support.

    Assignment availability:
-You do not see the assignment available in the Assignments section or within the Course Content area.
-You receive an error message when clicking on the assignment from the Assignments section or within the Course Content area.

This is most likely an issue with the availability of the assignment. Either the Instructor has setup availability dates, which hides the assignment from students (if outside of the dates setup) or the assignment has been removed and the link has not been updated. If there are two locations of where the assignment is located (Assignments section or weekly folders in Content Area), try accessing both locations to see if it's available. If not, please contact Blackboard Support for additional assistance.
