The Dual Degree Program (DDP) is a unique partnership between GovState and 17 Chicagoland community colleges that provides transfer students with a seamless pathway to earn quality, accessible, and affordable associate and bachelor's degrees. To qualify for the DDP, you must be a current community college student in good academic standing at one of our 17 partner community colleges. Students who enroll in the Dual Degree Program while completing their associate degree, then graduate and transfer to GovState, will be able to take advantage of exclusive benefits only available to DDP participants. Students planning to pursue a
bachelor's degree immediately after graduating from their community
college are encouraged to join the Dual Degree Program! To qualify for the DDP, you must be a current community college student in good academic standing at one of our 17 partner community colleges. Students are encouraged to join the DDP as early as possible while completing their associate degree to take advantage of the many program benefits including:
- Access to a
designated DDP Transfer Specialist to give you personalized advising to develop a
plan to complete your degrees in the shortest amount of time possible.
- Admission to GovState will be guaranteed (some academic programs such as nursing, social work, and art, have additional enrollment requirements).
- Your GovState tuition rate will be locked in when you enroll in the DDP.
- Pell-eligible students with a 2.75 GPA will have the opportunity to compete for the GSU Promise Scholarship. This scholarship covers the full cost of tuition and academic fees which are not covered by the student's MAP grant or other institutional awards*.
- Students with a 3.5 GPA or above will have the opportunity to compete for the DDP Honors Scholarship. This
scholarship covers the full cost of tuition and academic fees which are
not covered by the student's MAP grant or other institutional awards*.
*See the DDP Scholarship website for additional eligibility criteria. Applicants must be eligible for in-state tuition at Governors State University; international students are welcome to participate in DDP, but are not eligible for a DDP scholarship.
