Dr. Don Parker is a dynamic keynote speaker and professional development provider transforming education nationwide. A GovState alumnus, he earned his master’s in Educational Administration in 2000, launching a distinguished career that began in 1997. Serving as a teacher, Dean of Students, and assistant principal, he revitalized school cultures, boosted staff collaboration, and enhanced student achievement using evidence-based practices.
 
As the author of Building Bridges: Engaging Students Through the Power of Relationships, Dr. Don Parker’s innovative approach continues to inspire educators and transform school culture and student outcomes.

Sgt. Kimberly Wingfield is a dedicated Police Sergeant with the Department of Public Safety and a proud GovState alumna. She began her journey at GovState as a Police Officer in 2014, driven by a deep-rooted belief in the power of education—a value instilled by her parents, which she shared with her siblings, all of whom have earned advanced degrees. In 2022, Sgt. Wingfield expanded her expertise by earning a double master’s degree in Criminal Justice and Public Administration from GovState.

Beyond her professional duties, Sgt. Wingfield gives back to her community by coaching basketball at St. Benedict School, blending her love for sports with her commitment to mentoring the next generation. Her journey exemplifies how dedication to education and service can pave the way for personal and professional growth.

Interdisciplinary Studies Alumni Event

 


INLD 10 Year Celebration of Alumni, Faculty and Students

In celebration of its 10th year of creating educational and non-profit leaders, the Interdisciplinary Leadership Doctorate (INLD) Program at GovState hosted a 3-day event on March 3-5, 2022. During the three days, they held a research symposium to support graduate students, hosted an alumni, student, and faculty networking event where the GovState community was able to meet connect and engage with the full INLD community, and organized a program meeting where alumni offered professional and academic insight to current students, and faculty provided additional support and guidance to current students as they matriculate through the program.
