Dr. W. Prince and Elsie McLemore Physical Therapy Scholarship
Dr. Prince McLemore is a retired professor of the university. He served as chairperson of the Division of Education. He taught social studies and social foundations of education. Dr. Prince McLemore and wife Elsie established this scholarship through the Alumni Association to support minority students majoring in physical therapy.

Eligibility:
- Must be an undergraduate or graduate physical therapy student with a 3.0 cumulative GPA who has completed at least 9 semester hours.
- Must be in good academic standing and enrolled in at least 6 credit hours
- Must be a United States citizen (or eligible non-citizen) and an Illinois resident
- In choosing recipients for the scholarship, assuming candidates of equal qualification, there shall be a strong consideration, but not an absolute preference for minority students
Not eligible:
- Community Honors Scholars
- Employees of the University, excluding students receiving financial aid or state funds
Documents Required:
- An essay describing applicant’s qualifications
Award Information:
One award of 250 to 500 dollars.
Note: Award amounts may vary based on funding, availability, and addition, if any, to principal. Amount awarded shall not exceed tuition costs.
