Entering honors-eligible freshmen who apply by the Early Decision Deadline will be considered for Governors State University’s institutional scholarships, including the full-ride Presidential Scholarship. Early Decision allows you to learn of your admission decision early in your senior year.

Scholarships range from $28,000 to FULL COST of attendance based on four years of studies. 


Honors Scholarship Steps

Presidential Scholarship: (2 available): The highest scholarship honor is the GSU Presidential Scholarship. Up to two students receive the 2020 Presidential Scholarship. This prestigious scholarship covers the cost of tuition and fees for up to 30 credit hours each academic year (fall, spring, summer), academic year semi-suite housing in GSU’s residence hall, a Silver board plan ($1000 per semester), and $500.00 toward books per semester at the GSU Follett Bookstore.   

Provost’s Scholarship: Up to two students can earn a $32,000 scholarship awarded at $8,000 annually.

Dean’s Scholarship: Up to four students can earn a $28,000 scholarship awarded at $7,000 annually.

AIM HIGH Scholarship
