GovState’s Youth Camps engage youth to become tomorrow’s innovators through extensive interaction with highly seasoned instructors, field practitioners, GovState students, alumni, and representatives from various businesses and industries. Activity tutorials, experiments, field activities, project-based learning, field trips, and hands-on presentations are organized on a fun and structured schedule. Our mission is to encourage students to envision themselves in STEAM careers.
Currently, GovState's STEAM Camp program operates sessions in winter and summer.

STEAM Camp
Ages: 11 to 16
(Mature campers as young as age 10 may register at parental/guardian discretion)
Dates: July 15 - 19 & July 22 - 26
(Camp is 2 full weeks this year)
Time: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Blues Kids Camp
Ages: 11 - 16
Dates: July 29, 30, and 31

Auditions
In partnership with Fernando Jones, a music Professor at Columbia College in Chicago and founder of Blues Kids, an internationally renowned traveling music camp for kids. Auditions will be held May 22 or May 29.
The program is free to all students who are selected to participate!
GovState Chemistry or Biology Field Trips
Start planning a field trip with the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS). The field trip is free of charge, and various activities can be planned that pull in all parts of science! Learn analytical procedures and tour our laboratories. Individuals and groups welcome.

Private Pilot Ground School
Pilot Training Program for ages 16 and up.
Prepares individuals to earn their private pilot license.
